The Town Board welcomes the new Town of Denning Code Enforcement Officer, Miguel Martinez-Riddle, who was appointed on June 24th. At present he is familiarizing himself with current permits, permit applications, doing site visits and answering emails and messages, etc. to get up to speed. Denning Transfer Station – 2026 Important Information

The Town of Denning has released updated information for residents using the Transfer Station in 2026.

Annual Permit

  • The yearly permit fee is $25 (valid Jan 1 – Dec 31, 2026)

New Management

  • Dan Van Saders is now the Transfer Station Manager
  • The previous manager has retired but remains in the community

Disposal Guidelines

Household Garbage

  • Bagged household trash only

Cardboard & Paper

  • Clean cardboard, magazines, and paper only
  • Boxes must be broken down
  • Shredded paper must be in clear bags
  • ❌ No dirty/greasy items (like pizza boxes)

Recycling

  • Clean glass, cans, plastic containers, and aluminum
  • Remove recyclables from bags before placing in container
  • ❌ No plastic bags, toys, totes, or bulky plastics

Special Items & Rules

  • Metal: Use the designated red metal container
  • Bulk items (furniture, mattresses, etc.): Fees apply (set by the manager; check payment only)
  • Electronics & appliances: Not accepted – must go to UCRRA in Kingston
  • Tires: Not currently accepted (survey underway)

Safety & General Rules

  • Use stairs to dispose of items safely (do not throw from ground level)
  • Do not leave items outside the gate during off-hours
  • No after-hours drop-offs unless approved
  • Facility is monitored by cameras 24/7
